Proctoring General Terms
Term | Definition |
Exam Session | Instance of an Examinee taking an Exam. |
Finished Session | A completed Exam Session. |
Exam | An exam (the assessment being taken) |
Exam Rules | Exam parameters as determined by the testing program. |
Examinee | The person taking an Exam |
Event | Rosalyn’s AI System has been trained to recognize Examinee behaviors that do not follow Exam Rules. If the Examinee exhibits one of these behaviors during the Exam Session, an Event is generated. Events are then reviewed by Rosalyn Human Proctor. |
Severity | A metric that states the severity of flagged events; segmented into low, medium, high, and critical levels. |
Proctor | A person who oversees the AI decision-making and determines which flags should be reviewed by the instructor or designated reviewer. |
Real-Time Proctoring | When a human proctor oversees the AI during the active Exam Session. A final review of Rosalyn’s proctoring is still required for each examinee. |
Lock-Down | This option turns off all of Rosalyn’s proctoring capabilities but continues to prevent using external sources, browsers, apps, or monitors. |
Proctoring Statuses
The following values inform where in the Proctoring process the Exam Session is.
Terms | Definition |
Waiting for Proctoring | Session was only in post-processing, and there was no live proctoring turned on. No proctoring was done, and the proctor needs to review events and reject possible falsely recognized events after the exam has been completed. |
Waiting for Final Approval - No flags | Session was in live proctoring. No events were flagged by the AI/Proctor. The instructor or designated reviewer must still review the exam events and reject possible falsely recognized events. The instructor or reviewer still needs to make a decision to Approve or Reject the session. |
Waiting For Final Approval - Flags | The session was in live proctoring. Events were flagged during the exam, and the proctor needs to review events and reject possible falsely recognized events. Proctor still needs to make a decision to Clear or Reject the session. |
Proctoring In Progress | Proctor is currently in the session (finished session), and proctoring is in progress. |
Session Statuses
The following values inform the end status, post-proctor, instructor, or reviewer review of the Exam Session.
Terms | Definition |
Session Status - Cleared | Instructor or reviewer has cleared the finished session - there were either no events or the events that occurred did not meet the threshold for rejecting the exam. Only your instructor or designated reviewer can make this decision. |
Session Status - Flagged | This means your instructor or reviewer has determined that at least one Rosalyn-generated flagged event did not satisfy the provided Exam Rules. |
Session Status - Rejected | Instructor or reviewer has rejected the finished session - an event or combination of the events met the threshold for the examinee to fail the exam based on the exam rule parameters. Only your instructor or reviewer can make this decision. |
