Exam Settings - Instructor View

The instructor is able to determine the specific Exam Settings to apply to a particular exam. This is initiated when the instructor turns on proctoring for a specific assessment.

When an instructor enables proctoring on an assessment they will first need to walk through the Exam Settings options before proctoring is turned on. Proctoring will not be turned on until Confirm & Enable is selected at the end of the process.

Select Proctoring Type

The first screen that appears after enabling proctoring is Select Proctoring Type. The instructor can select Real Time Proctoring or Lock Down.

Select Applicable Rules for Real-Time Proctoring

After clicking Next the Instructor will see a list of rules for the exam. Some of these rules can be changed, and some are Always On. If the Instructor selected Real time proctoring as an option, this set of rules will be presented:

Rules that can be Turned Off/On:

  • Use a private test area

  • Face should be visible in camera view

  • Do not interact with others

  • Other materials are not allowed

  • Turn off noise-making devices

  • No additional devices allowed

Rules that are Always On and cannot be turned off:

  • Only mouse, keyboard and monitor allowed

  • No other Apps or Browser tabs allowed

  • Sharing of exam content prohibited

Select Applicable Rules for Lock Down

When Lock Down is chosen the exam rules cannot be changed:

Rules that are Always Off :

  • Use a private test area

  • Face should be visible in camera view

  • Do not interact with others

Rules that are Always On:

After the rules are confirmed, the Instructor clicks Next to proceed.

Confirm Configuration

The final screen in the process summarizes the choice of Exam Settings.
