Problem

Based on users' browser settings, they may experience issues opening Rosalyn from Canvas.

Rosalyn and 3rd Party Cookies issues with Safari

Technical Note: Safari prevents cookies from being used within an iFrame.

Solution

To resolve this issue, you can update a security setting within Safari:

  1. On your Mac, choose Safari > Preferences/Settings, then click Privacy.

  2. Uncheck (disable) the following:

    Website teaching: ⬜ Prevent cross-site tracking

3. Return to Canvas and re-lunch, Rosalyn.

Rosalyn and 3rd Party Cookie issues with Chrome

Technical Note: The default settings for Chrome are suitable for the usage of Rosalyn. However, sometimes the third-party cookies will be blocked by the user.

Solution

To resolve this issue, you can update a security setting within Chrome:

  1. Open your Chrome Browser.

  2. In the address bar, enter this address: chrome://settings/cookies

    Make sure that the setting for Block third-party cookies is NOT enabled.

  3. Relaunch Chrome.

Rosalyn and 3rd Party Cookie issue with Firefox

Technical Note: The default settings for the Firefox browser are suitable for the usage of Rosalyn. However, sometimes the third-party cookies will be blocked by the user.

Solution

To resolve this issue, you can update the security settings within Firefox:

  1. Open your Mozilla Firefox.

  2. In the address bar, enter this address: about:preferences#privacy

    Under the section for Enhanced Tracking Protection, select Standard (you may need to refresh your browser tabs after changing this setting).

  3. Restart Firefox.
