macOS Troubleshooting

In order to take your exam, the Rosalyn application will need access to your camera, microphone, and screen-share. Mac users will need to grant proper access permissions to the Rosalyn app when prompted and then restart the app. You will not be able to continue your exam until all proper permissions have been granted.

Step by Step

  • When you start Rosalyn for the first time, it will ask you to grant access to these permissions:

    • Camera

    • Microphone

    • Screen Recording

Once you receive a pop-up saying Rosalyn wants to access the camera and microphone, click “Ok” to continue.

  • The next message you receive is Rosalyn asking to record the computer’s screen.

Select “Open System Settings/Preferences.” You may need to minimize the Rosalyn application to see the window. Alternatively, you can go directly to your Mac’s System Settings/Preferences > Privacy & Security setting from the navigation menu.

    1. In Security & Privacy, find the Screen Recording option in the left menu.

    2. Select Screen Recording. You should then be able to see Rosalyn in the list on the right.

    3. Turn the screen recording on for the Rosalyn app in the list

    4. Enter your password to save new changes.

    5. A message will now appear. Select Quit & Reopen

    6. Go back to Rosalyn and close that application.

    7. When prompted, “Are you sure you want to exit the exam?” Click Yes.

You can now relaunch the Rosalyn application and perform your exam.
