Visit a camera testing website such as https://webcammictest.com/.
Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm that your camera is functioning properly.
If the camera is operational, proceed to Step 2.
If the camera does not function, check its connection or consult your device’s user manual for further guidance.
Step 2: Close Conflicting Applications
Applications that utilize the camera may interfere with its functionality on the exam platform. Ensure that the following applications, or any similar ones, are closed:
Microsoft Teams
Screen-sharing tools
Slack
WhatsApp
Google Meet
Zoom
Closing Applications on Windows
Via Task Manager:
Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to launch Task Manager.
Identify any running applications that might be using the camera (e.g., Teams, Zoom).
Right-click the application and select End Task.
Via the System Tray:
Click the upward arrow located in the bottom-right corner of the taskbar.
Right-click on application icons potentially using the camera.
Select Exit or Close.
Closing Applications on macOS
Using Force Quit:
Press Command + Option + Esc to open the Force Quit Applications menu.
Select any applications that may be utilizing the camera (e.g., Teams, Zoom).
Click Force Quit.
Via the Dock:
Right-click (or Control-click) the application icon in the Dock.
Select Quit.
Step 3: Retry the Exam Platform
Return to the exam platform.
Refresh the page, if necessary, and reattempt the camera test.
If the issue persists, restart your computer and repeat the steps outlined above.
